The body – Primary rhythmic “instrument”  as related to strong experiences of the child, rhythm instrument that can evolve from the first sound-gestures to the practice of body percussion, the set of all those forms and techniques of percussion of the body that organize the shots in sequences to create rhythmic patterns and sound-gestural choreography.

The most simple and natural music production passes first of all through the use of the voice and of the body because they are the instruments that we all possess, without the need to make use of  external sound mediators (musical instruments precisely). The body music (music produced by the body, therefore, set of vocal sounds and body rhythms) is an extremely useful tool to form and consolidate rhythmic awareness (which will also affect the implementation instrumental) and coordination, even going to work on self-esteem, therefore, and on the capacity of attention and concentration.

The instrumental function is not the only one, we have also the motor/expressive function of the body: the body says, the body outlines, the body is, the body interprets and mimics , the body is multiplied together with the other bodies (thus becoming a fundamental tool to build relationships). From free expressive movement to structured forms the body has all the boundless area represented by motor languages.

The voice – Used starting from its phonemic and inarticulate expressions, both the more crude and primitive that those sophisticatedly modulated, up to nonsense, to the word, to verbal rhythm, language, singing in the choir. The voice, as the first way of exploration, experimentation and relationship with the world, is, in the experience of the child, an even more experienced and technically consolidated gesture. The voice is a support for the rhythmic experience (nursery rhymes, count, etc.), it supports the rhythmic gesture, rhythmic instrumental performance, thanks to the strong link psychomotor lag between word and movements. The verbal rhythm  can be put in opposition with the instrumental (or body) execution  to lead to a much higher level capacity for rhythmic, physical and mental coordination, performing  two complementary rhythms.

Body Percussion or, more in general (including voice) Body Music is therefore an incredible technique to experience the musical elements (pulsation, the meter, the rhythm) and to train the mind (increasing, in parallel with the coordination, concentration and attention level), is a wonderful art form that everyone can experience, is a fantastic tool to strengthen the relationship and aggregation within the working group.
